Dunedin's legendary outdoors folk music festival.
Featuring world class musicians from New Zealand and around the world, Whare Flat Folk Festival is four days of music, sun, camping, workshops and jams in the idyllic native bush surrounds of Waiora Scout Camp. 30 December to 3 January. Just 15 minutes' drive from Dunedin, Whare Flat is the best way to see in the New Year in Otago.
We encourage you to bring your musical instruments and jams are welcome, providing your neighbours are keen!
Workshops, dance events and programmes for children ensure there is never a shortage of ways for everyone to get involved, sharing songs, stories and skills - an essential element of the folk music tradition.
