Sarah and catherine brown
Hailing from the Highlands of Scotland, sisters Sarah and Catherine Brown have been immersed from a young age in a culture rich in traditional music.
Sarah (fiddle, voice) and Catherine (fiddle, piano, voice) perform traditional music from Scotland, Ireland and Cape Breton along with some original compositions. They have performed together as a duo and in a band at the Shetland Folk Festival, from 2013. In recent years both sisters have also participated in The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, with the Shetland fiddle group Hjaltibonhoga.
Catherine, who has previously worked in Otago, and Sarah are both very much looking forward to sharing their music at Whare Flat and learning other musical cultures.
