The Secret Lives of Ukulele formed in 2014 amongst participants at New Brighton Friday night jam sessions and have rigorously rehearsed and busked their way towards ukulele world domination ever since.
Most recently Secret Lives were a highlight of the Waipara Folk Festival at Easter of this year - rocking the Friday night dance floor and captivating the Sunday night concert audience. Participants in our "secret" workshops also took part in an evening performance with us. Feature performances at Geraldine and Lauder Ukulele Festivals – 2014 – 2016. Support for The Nukes at Lytteltons' Wunderbar, July 2016. Frequently involved in local community celebrations and events around Christchurch and beyond. Secret Lives have also run inclusive strum-along sessions and workshops for groups and individuals as a way of fostering a wider appeal for the ukulele and the music they love to play. The Secret Lives of Ukulele are: Annie, Carl, Emily, Maree, Paul (ukuleles), Lance (cigar-box guitars), Peter (bass guitar), Lynden (drums) and Louise (fiddle, tenor and Rarotongan ukulele).
