Applications for the festival are welcome at any time, however those received after the end of May are less likely to be successful as we try to confirm our guest list in June. The festival runs from Sunday 30th December 2018 to Thursday 3rd January 2019.

Here's what we typically request of a festival guest:

  • One 50 minute daytime concert

  • One or more workshop/masterclass in your field of expertise or interest

  • One 20 minute performance in an evening variety concert

and perhaps (if your strengths lie in any of these areas):

  • Children's entertainment or workshop

  • Dance workshop

  • Compere/MC duties

  • Hosting a singing or playing session

  • Playing or calling in the New Year's Eve Barndance

  • Contributing to the Blues Forum

There are some less tangible things we like to encourage like taking part in the festival, being accessible to festival goers and, where appropriate, collaborate with other musicians and guests.

What you can expect in return is some combination of money, meals, accommodation and consideration of your partner or family accompanying you. It is usual that we accommodate and feed out-of-town guest artists (unless they are making alternative arrangements). The fees we can pay vary from year to year (depending on funding, grants etc.) and are not comparable with the international festival scene.

To apply, you'll need the following information:

  1. Artist/Act name and contact person.

  2. Description of act (up to 500 words as you would have it appear in the programme and publicity)

  3. Links to pictures, youtube videos, mp3s and/or websites.

  4. What you have to offer in addition to your performance (workshops, children's activities, dance etc.)

  5. Your fee.

We are interested in having a wide range of artists and music types and try to present a balanced programme. We can make no guarantee that any given application will be accepted but the more information you can provide and contributions you can make will improve your application consideration.
